Energy Information Portal (EIP) User Instructions

EIP serves two main functions: 1) To provide tenants web-based access to their monthly submetering bill, and 2) To provide tenants access to their energy usage and profile to help them better understand and reduce their energy consumption.

Access your Tenant Account

  • Enter your Tenant ID and password
  • Username: Vornado tenant ID number
  • Password: "Vornado1" (case sensitive)
  • To add a new user to the monthly email when bills have been posted, click on the tenant name. A window will pop up allowing you to enter your email address as well as alternative recipient.

Financial/ Access to Tenant Electric Bill

  • To see the bills, click on the year and period ( i.e. 2009-6, will be the June 2009 bill)
  • To review a summary of each month's usage and costs, click ALL the "plus" signs for the current and previous year. This will provide a convenient view of your monthly expense comparisons.
  • Sub-Meter Bills / Summary: When you click on this choice, the next screen will display the total usage and cost for the current YTD and the Previous Years. Slide the curser over "Usage" and it will take you to a report showing Kwh per month. Slide the curser over the "Subtotal" and you will see a report showing the monthly costs (exclusive of sales tax) per month.
  • Sub-Meter Reconciliation: This choice will take you to the reconciliation report that is related to the "fixed billing" procedure. Three rows display the (1) the "fixed amount" you pay on the rent bill (2) the "actual charge" which is the amount on your submeter bill and (3) the "difference" which is the credit or debit due on your account for the month. The report keeps you informed of the running total and can be used for accrual purposes. Note: If you run your cursor over the "Actual Charge" and click, you will see you actual bill for the respective month.

Energy Information

  • Usage Profile & Interval Data: This choice will enable you to see your meter data in a variety of ways.
  • The "Tenant" field will display your company name, the "Meter Point" displays all the meters associated with your premises, the "From" and "To" fields allow you to select the time periods in which you want to view your data.
  • If you have multiple meters, select "All" and then click on "View Report". A graph will display the most recent seven (7) days hourly increments of the total consumption in your premises.
  • A checkbox nest to the meters will allow you to individually select any one meter to view the data.
  • The interval data allows the end user to view how much energy was consumed in any particular hour of the day. (a red column indicate that the user reached it peak consumption in the dates being viewed)
  • If you need help, an energy consultant can help you to determine what equipment is using energy after hours. This will help you to identify any wasteful practices.
  • The "Load Factor" is calculated by multiplying the "Peak Demand" by the number of hours in the period and dividing the total into the actual Kilowatt-hours in the same period (expressed as a percentage)
